Optus' quarterly profit plunges 32% on higher depreciation charges

Australian operator Optus saw its revenue grow 3 percent year-on-year to AUD 2.2 billion for the quarter ended 30 June. EBITDA increased 5 percent to AUD 687 million. Net profit declined to AUD 105 million reflecting both higher depreciation charges as Optus continues to invest in its mobile network and lower contributions from Optus Business. Free cash flow increased to AUD 230 million in the quarter.
