Optus tests 5G calls with carrier aggregation in 2,300 and 3,500 MHz bands

Australian operator Optus announced its has tested carrier aggregation of the 2,300 and 3,500 MHz bands in a call over its 5G network. The call was made in Sydney, in collaboration with partner Ericsson and using Samsung's Galaxy S20 5G smartphone. Optus said it saw a significant increase in the average and peak 5G speeds that customers can receive thanks to the use of CA, which will be rolled out on its Sydney and Melbourne 5G network later this year.
