Optus to deploy 83 mobile sites under round 5 of Mobile Black Spot Programme

Australian operator Optus has announced it has secured funding to deploy 83 new mobile sites as part of Round 5 of the Federal Government's Mobile Black Spot Programme. The 83 sites are located across New South Wales, Australian Capital Territory, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria, Western Australia and the Northern Territory and will cost AUD 56.1 million to build. The total amount includes AUD 25.4 million in federal funding, AUD 5.3 million in state funding and a co-contribution of AUD 22.2 million from Optus.
