Orange and Bouygues Telecom fined EUR 315,000 each over broadband price marketing

France's anti-fraud and consumer protection agency (DGCCRF) has issued Orange and Bouygues Telecom with fines of EUR 315,000 each for continuing to market their fixed broadband services without including recurring equipment rental fees in the monthly headline price of the offer. Both operators failed to change their marketing practices by 01 February, the deadline set by the consumer watchdog to comply with the new obligation, introduced to make consumer-facing communication more transparent.
