Orange Cameroon disconnects unidentified mobile users

Tuesday 5 July 2016 | 11:08 CET | News
Orange Cameroon has disconnected unidentified users of its mobile network, effective 01 July, in line with government instructions, Agence Ecofin reported. The company said customers affected by the move can reactivate their accounts free of charge by presenting their identity cards in Orange stores. The Cameroon government has been pushing mobile operators to identify all customers on their databases since 2010 and set a deadline of 10 June to resolve the issue.
