Orange confirms review of operations in Kenya, Uganda

Orange has been reviewing its operations in Kenya and Uganda, where it has been present since 2008 and 2009, and has struggled against more established competitors, Reuters reports. The operator told the news agency that "One option would be to find new partners in these countries to ensure that the necessary financial and operating resources are available to maintain investment and support the continued development of operations." Orange Kenya, which is 30 percent Kenyan government-owned, has 2.21 million subscribers, giving it a 7.1 percent mobile market share. Data for Uganda was not
