Orange DRC growing by 20 percent a year

Two years after entering the Democratic Republic of Congo, Orange's revenue in the country is growing by more than 20 percent a year, group chairman and CEO Stephane Richard said during a visit to the country. Agence Ecofin reports that he criticised the country's tax system as being "heavy and unstable". Richard said he brought a message to the authorities stressing the vital role of telecom for the economic take off of the DRC, the relatively low mobile penetration rate and management issues for the sector in terms of how many operators there are and conditions for competition.
