Orange expands fibre in Palaiseau, plans home LTE trials

Orange has announced plans to expand its fibre services in the test city of Palaiseau, a suburb of Paris. The operator said it's on track to connect all the city's residents to fibre by year-end, with currently 90 percent of homes passed. The aim is to migrate all residential customers to fibre by the end of 2014 and all business customers by end-2015. Already three-quarters of Orange's consumer customers in the city are using fibre services, prompting a sharp increase in bandwidth used. Orange said downloads have tripled on average among fibre customers, while uploads have increased
