Orange France releases HTC Desire Android smartphone

Orange France launched the HTC Desire handset running Google's Android operating system after it was released by Virgin Mobile France, but at EUR 99, is selling for EUR 50 less than the country's biggest MVNO, writes Echos du Net. Orange France stated in March that it had a two-week operator exclusivity agreement in place with HTC for the Desire, but was not the first to market. Its EUR 99 price applies to an online purchase at the same time as an Origami Plus subscription. Orange is selling the phone for EUR 299 with smaller plans. As a standalone product, it costs EUR 469.
