Orange France selects Ericsson for mobile upgrade - report

This summer Orange France selected Ericsson to provide base station equipment for three French regions, East, Southwest and Ile-de-France (Paris metro area), reports Les Echos citing unnamed sources. Orange was already using core network equipment from Ericsson, but the latter has been winning an increasing number of base station deals over the last two years, according to an industry insider. In 2009, Bouygues Telecom chose Ericsson to upgrade its base stations and to deploy new 3G infrastructure in three regions. Ericsson, which would not comment on the matter, is recruiting 70 people in
