Orange France, SFR announce Lyon fibre rollout plan

Orange France and SFR have announced their fibre deployment plan for less densely populated areas in the greater Lyon metropolitan area, representing some 180,000 homes in 47 municipalities of the metropolitan area and 14 towns to the southeast. The operators that they will complete the networks in each municipality within five years of starting work, so that all homes are passed by fibre by 2020. Orange is responsible for the rollout in 34 municipalities, with co-financing from SFR, and SFR, with Orange co-financing, is handling the deployment in the remaining 27 municipalities.
