Orange holds off Nigerian mobile banking investment over regulatory hurdles

A Central Bank regulation barring non-financial institutions from providing financial services in Nigeria is all that stands in the way of Orange SA from providing mobile banking there, Business Day reported, citing two people familiar with the matter. Orange is ready to invest billions of dollars in Nigeria, but the framework has to be right said one of the sources, who did not want to be named.
