Orange inaugurates Kanawa undersea cable linking French Guiana and Martinique

Orange has officially inaugurated its new submarine cable linking Kourou in French Guiana and Schœlcher in Martinique. Completed in under two years, the Kanawa project has seen the group's subsidiary Orange Marine lay the 1,746 km-long cable for an overall investment of EUR 35 million, entirely financed by the operator. Kanawa has an overall capacity of up to 10 Tbps and will be accessible to other internet providers and content suppliers.
