Tuesday 9 August 2011 | 16:35 CET | News
Orange Cameroon has launched a mobile payments service. The mobile operator signed an agreement with the bank Bicec last year to support the launch of the Orange Money service and received approval from the central bank in July, local paper The Star reports. Customers will be able to transfer and withdraw money and pay bills with the mobile money service. Orange has been rolling out the payments service across its African footprint and already offers it in Kenya, Botswana and Cote d'Ivoire.
