Orange Liberia defends surcharge in data and calls

Wednesday 14 October 2020 | 13:36 CET | News
Orange Liberia has defended the imposition of surcharges on voice calls and mobile data, despite the Liberia Telecommunications Authority (LTA)'s claim that it is illegal, The Observer reported. Previously, USD 2 purchased 1.2 GB of data, but with the new pricing, USD 2 now gets only half that amount (600 MB). For on-net voice calls, USD 1.00 previously allowed for 45 minutes of airtime; that is now at 15 minutes, for the same price.
