Orange Luxembourg M2M Sims up sharply, but Q1 revenue drops

Mobistar subsidiary Orange Luxembourg reported revenue down 14.9 percent to EUR 15.6 million in the first quarter, compared with EUR 18.4 million in the first quarter of 2013. Within the total, mobile phone operations generated EUR 13.5 million of turnover in the first quarter, a decrease of 18.3 percent on EUR 16.5 million in the year-earlier period, due to fierce competition, notably from the launch of a new MVNO. The operator was also hit by a reduction in the mobile call termination tariff from EUR 0.105 per minute to EUR 0.98. Orange Luxembourg had 102,688 active customers at the end of
