Orange Moldova launches LTE services
Mobile operator Orange Moldova has launched commercial LTE services in the capital Chisinau. The operator offers two Internet Acum service plans to access the service: 30GB per month at MDL 250 and 50GB per month for MDL 300. The Huawei E392 USB modem needed to access the service costs MDL 299, or MDL 99 for existing internet subscribers. Customers can also buy the Samsung Galaxy S III LTE for MDL 12,999 or the HTC One XL for MDL 9,999. The phones come with 1GB internet access each month for a year or 5GB for MDL 200 per month.

Moldcell launches LTE for business customers

Moldova mobile operator Moldcell has launched commercial LTE services for business customers, claiming a first in the counrty. Corporate subscribers can get a LTE modem for MDL 1 when taking a data services subscription at MDL 500 for 100GB. The offer is available until year-end.

Moldcell launches LTE demo area in Chisinau

Moldova mobile operator Moldcell has launched a LTE demo area in one of its outlets in Chisinau. The operator has just received a licence for LTE services and earlier tested the services based on equipment from Ericsson. Customers visiting the Moldcell cafe at the shop can test the faster data services over a laptop with built-in modem, a tablet and a touch screen table.

Moldcell, Orange Moldova get LTE licences

Moldova's telecom regulator Anrceti issued to Moldcell and Orange Moldova two licences for the use of 2500-2690 MHz band frequencies for the provision of LTE services. The licences were issued following the two operators' requests. The two companies were granted the licences after they transferred to the state budget the EUR 10 million licence fee in MDL. In a decree, the government recommended that Anrceti issue by the end of 2012 licences for the use of three blocks of 2x20 MHz from the 2500-2690 MHz band
