Orange Poland installs 1,500 LTE-M power meters in Warsaw

Wednesday 14 August 2019 | 14:44 CET | News

More than 1,500 power-meters using the LTE-M technology have been installed in Warsaw buildings by the mobile operator Orange Poland. The solution was designed by the company Innogy Laboratory of Things, the joint venture of Orange Poland and Innogy Stoen Operator.

The LTE-M connectivity runs over the Orange Poland mobile network. The metering systems were produced by Apator, and communications modules were provided by PySense.

Orange Poland is ready to launch the commercial LTE-M network across the country, said Sebastian Grabowski, the director of IoT and advanced technologies at Orange. The LTE-M technology can serve up to 1 million IoT devices per square-kilometre.
