Orange Poland launches payments using Android Pay

Wednesday 7 June 2017 | 13:02 CET | News

Orange Poland has become the first operator on the market to launch payments by mobile phone using Android Pay integrated with Orange Finance. Clients can activate the payment by mobile phone and enter a debit or credit card directly to the mobile banking service of Orange Finance. No additional applications need to be installed.

The application Orange Finance is available for a download from Google Play. The card details are then added to Android Pay. The smartphone needs to be operated by Android version 4.4 or higher, support NFC and in the section Touch and Pay, the application Android Pay is set up as a default.

The service is available for clients of Orange Finance who have an active debit or credit card from MasterCard.

Android Pay allows NFC payments as well as payments using mobile applications. The service Android Pay verifies the the client's account associated with the card, so no log-in to the application is necessary. During the payment, the real card number is not available to the seller. After completion of the payment, on the payment receipt, the user can check the place of the transaction and the seller's name and number.

For the first five payments, the user will get a bonus of PLN 10 for the first payment and PLN 5 for each of the other four. In total, the user may get up to PLN 30. Orange Finance has developed a bonus pre-paid SIM credit of PLN 120 for Orange on Card and discounts on invoices of Orange (PLN 10 a month during one year) for new clients actively using payments by mobile or debit/credit card. Active usage means making payments by mobile phone or card for purchases amounting to at least PLN 300 in any one month.
