Orange Spain has reached an agreement with the town council of Lardero in the northern La Rioja region to connect around 5,000 homes and businesses to its fibre-optic network. Under the terms of the deal, the company will invest EUR 800,000 to install the FTTH infrastructure, having already invested some EUR 63,000 to launch 4G throughout the locality.

In December the company said it was accelerating its Spanish fibre-optic rollout and is now targeting 16 million connected premises by 2020, up from 14 million.
