Orange spends EUR 2.6 mln on Canary Islands FTTH rollout

Orange Spain has announced a deal to bring FTTH services to the town of San Bartolome de Tirajana in the Canary Islands in a total investment of EUR 2.6 million. Over 15,000 premises, equivalent to over 70 percent of local homes and businesses, will have fibre-optic coverage by next year, said Orange. The operator has already spent around EUR 2.7 million extend its 4G network to around 80 percent of the town's population.
