Orange Uganda signs up 40% of users for mobile money service

Orange Uganda says 40 percent of its total subscriber base has registered for its mobile money platform since it introduced the service six months ago, Biztech reported. Biztech said its late entrance into the mobile money left many wondering how the firm would fare in this niche, which is dominated by MTN Uganda. Orange Mobile Money Product manager Ronald Wakabi its security protocol is watertight. Since its introduction in 2007 in Madagascar where it boasts over 4 million clients, it has never experienced any breach of security resulting in fraud.</p>

I'd love to know how orange Uganda got 40% of their total sub base registered to mobile banking in just 6 Months. What is the total number of sub base? Do they have a KYC driven market?
