Orbcomm accepts USD 1.1 billion acquisition bid

Orbcomm, a provider of IoT services, has agreed to its acquisition for USD 1.1 billion, by US investor GI Partners. Orbcomm CEO Marc Eisenberg said the deal, unanimously approved by the company's board of directors, will support its industrial IoT strategy, and plans to increase investment in sales, marketing and innovation. There will also be added flexibility as a privately-held company.
