Osijek to become first 5G city in Croatia

Friday 24 January 2020 | 16:33 CET | News
The Croatian government has decided that Osijek will be the first 5G city in Croatia, reports T-Portal. Designating Croatia's first 5G city is part of the European Commission's overall policy, which, as part of the '5G for Europe - Action Plan' plan, set out guidelines in 2016 for promoting the development of 5G by 2020. By the end of this year, each EU member state should designate at least one major city for the introduction of the first 5G network and fully commercial 5G services. In addition to Osijek, Bjelovar, Karlovac and Rijeka have also expressed their desire to be 5G cities.
