OTE launches voluntary early retirement offer

Friday 15 March 2019 | 19:00 CET | News

The OTE Group announced a new annual voluntary exit programme, according to local paper Ekathimerini. The programme will be addressed to about 1,400 employees in Greece and its aim is to reduce staff numbers. Interested employees will have to notify the group of their intention by the end of March.

The main targets of the programme are 1,227 employees of OTE, Cosmote and Germanos who are approaching retirement age. They include 557 workers who will obtain the right to a full pension by 2026 and another 670 who will gain the right to a reduced pension in the next seven years.

Another 100-150 workers from stores and in its administrative and support services are proposed to leave the company voluntarily.

OTE also plans to outsource its security to a specialised company, which would result in a further reduction of its staff by 50 to 75 people.
