OTT players underpay taxes in France - FFT

The five biggest OTT players in France (Google, Apple, Facebook, Amazon and Microsoft) would have paid over EUR 800 million of corporation tax and between EUR 400 million and EUR 700 million of VAT in 2011, but only paid several tens of millions by shifting revenues to parent companies in other countries with lower tax regimes, according to a study by Greenwich Consulting for French telecom federation FFT. The report also states that France has the highest telecom-specific taxes, taking 2.98 percent of operators' overall turnover in 2011, forty times more than in the UK. Telecom taxes in
