Over 20,000 Australian subs enter financial hardship arrangement with telecom operators in 2020

More than 19,500 residential customers and 1,500 small business customers in Australia entered into a financial hardship arrangement with their telecommunications services provider in the 2019/20 financial year, according to a report from the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA). The report analyses telco data on customers in financial hardship arrangements, and provides some indicator of the extent to which the COVID-19 pandemic had an impact on telecommunications services users, particularly small business.
