Over 3 million UK homes subscribe to Netflix - study

The number of UK households subscribing to Netflix has doubled over the last year to more than 3 million, reports The Telegraph. The research by BARB for Enders Analysis shows that more than 1 in 10 UK homes have joined Netflix, placing the company well ahead of its nearest rival Amazon. Netflix is especially popular with younger viewers who believe it has an 'extra cool' factor. The BARB research puts Netflix's UK subscriber base at 2.8 million in Q1 2014. Enders Analysis believes that Netflix now must have passed the 3 million mark, meaning around 1.5 million extra households have joined in
