Over 3% of Puerto Rico base stations still out of order following quakes

Monday 13 January 2020 | 11:39 CET | News
A total of 3.1 percent of Puerto Rico's base stations are still out of order following a series of earthquakes that caused extensive damage and power outages on the island, according to an update from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). The quakes initially knocked out over 3 in 10 (31.7%) of the base stations, said the FCC, while some 258,637 cable and wireline subscribers lost services including telephony, TV and/or internet. On 12 January there were still 38,372 cable and wireline subscribers out of service in Puerto Rico.
