Over 4 in 10 users share location data unintentionally - study

Just 20 percent of smartphone users feel they have full control over their personal location data, according to a study from Here Technologies that revealed that 44 percent share location data with apps and service providers unintentionally, despite trying to restrict access. The survey of 8,000 people across 8 countries also signalled that 76 percent of people are left feeling stressed or vulnerable about sharing their location data, above all due to a lack of transparency on the part of data collectors and insufficient data management controls.
