Over 40% of German internet users make video calls - survey

Forty-three percent of internet users in Germany are using video calls to talk more with family or friends, according to a survey carried out by the digital association Bitkom. WhatsApp, Skype or Facetime are used across all age groups. Over half (52%) of the respondents aged 16 to 29 said they exchanged information via video since the beginning of the Covid-19 measures to limit physical contacts. The same applies for 43 percent of people aged 30-64, whereas only 27 percent of people aged over 65 use video calls. The survey was conducted among 1,003 people in Germany in April.
