Over 500 Spanish towns receive funding in latest WiFi4EU call

Thursday 16 May 2019 | 09:46 CET | News
A total of 510 Spanish town councils will receive EUR 7.65 million (EUR 15,000 each) to set up free public hotspots in the second call of the EU's WiFi4EU project, confirmed the European Commission in a statement. Spain was one of 3 countries, alongside Italy and Germany, to reach the maximum number of vouchers available to a single Member State in this latest call. Under the terms of the project, the Wi-Fi hotspots must be up and running in public squares, parks, hospitals and other public spaces within 18 months and must stay in operation for at least 3 years.
