Over 7 in 10 online Europeans to watch digital video in 2020

Tuesday 13 December 2016 | 14:08 CET | News
More than seven in 10 internet users in Western Europe will be digital video users by 2020, according to a report from eMarketer. This year, some 211.6 million Western Europeans are watching digital video at least once a month, equivalent to 66.9 percent of all internet users, a figure that's set to rise to 234.7 million across the region in five years' time. The steady rise will be driven by an increase in the number of on-demand services such as Netflix and Amazon as well as the proliferation of mobile devices and faster internet speeds, said the report.
