Over 70% of Germans plan to purchase electronics during holiday season - study

Over seven out of ten Germans (71 percent) said they would like to give electronics as a Christmas present this year or purchase one for themselves, German digital association Bitkom found in a representative survey of 1,010 people from the age of 14. One third of respondents (33 percent) said they would like to give or purchase tablets, while 28 percent preferred smartphones and 23 percent said they planned to purchase a classic gaming console like PlayStation, Xbox or 3DS this holiday season.
