Over 70% of Spanish fixed broadband lines above 30 Mbps in Q2

Friday 14 December 2018 | 10:53 CET | News
There were 14.7 million active fixed broadband connections in Spain at the end of the second quarter of 2018, up 3.6 percent year on year, according to a report by communications regulator CNMC. Over 70 percent of those lines provided speeds over 30 Mbps, some 1.8 million more than 12 months previously, while 55 percent of the 30 Mbps-plus lines had a contracted speed of 100 Mbps and over. The number of installed Next-Generation Access (NGA) networks rose to 52.4 million homes, driven by fibre-optic network expansion, with some 41.5 million of those homes having access to FTTH technology.
