Over half of Costa Rican internet subs accessing 10 Mbps-plus speeds

The number of Costa Rican internet subscribers accessing connections at speeds of more than 10 Mbps rose to 54 percent at the end of June 2020, up from just 9 percent two years earlier, according to an update from telecom regulator Sutel. "Internet service users demanded more quality of service as a result of the pandemic and companies responded," said Sutel council president Federico Chacon, adding that there was still much work to be done to equate urban and rural areas.
