Over half of German smartphone users want to use Corona warning app permanently - survey

Friday 10 July 2020 | 17:05 CET | News
More than half (53%) of smartphone users in Germany want to use the Corona warning app permanently, according to a survey carried out by digital association Bitkom in July. Meanwhile, more than 15 million people have installed the app in Germany. Users install the Corona warning app mostly to fight the virus (89%), while 84 percent feel protected through the app if a contact person gets infected. Half of the respondents (52%) hope to be able to protect other people in the event of an infection, and four out of ten (40%) simply use the app for social duty.
