Over third of German SMEs already benefit from digitisation efforts

Some 38 percent of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Germany said they are already reaping the benefits of digitisation and enjoying a "digital dividend" from digitisation projects they have implemented, according to a new survey of 1,000 German SMEs from the so-called Mittelstand by the Handelsblatt Research Institute on behalf of Deutsche Telekom. These respondents said the benefits of digitisation outweigh its costs, but another 30 percent said the costs and benefits of are roughly equal, and about one fifth said their investments in digitisation have not created any financial
