Pakistan extends mobile device registration deadline to 3 July amid COVID-19 crisis

Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has extended the deadline for blocking mobile device IMEIs until 3 July. The decision covers all GSMA valid IMEIs seen on mobile networks, but currently not registered with the PTA. The extension aims to provide relief to the public and ensure social distancing during the COVID-19 crisis. Mobile operators will start blocking unregistered mobile devices from 4 July. Users will be notified via SMS.
