Pakistan launches PKR 759 mln broadband project on Makran Coastal Highway

Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has inaugurated a project called 'Seamless broadband coverage from Hub to Jiwani: Makran Coastal Highway'. Overall investments in this project are expected to reach PKR 759 million, local newspaper Daily Times reports. The contract was signed by the country's Universal Service Fund (USF) with Ufone. Under this project, 58 BTS towers will be installed in 18 months. Voice and broadband internet services will be made available on the coastal highway of over 694 km and, for the first time, national roaming will be made available in Pakistan.
