Pakistan nears 41 million broadband customers in January

Pakistan ended January with a total of 40.7 million broadband subscribers, up from 40.1 million in December 2016. Of these, around 38.2 million were mobile broadband subscribers in January 2017, compared to 37.5 million in December 2016, according to figures released by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA).

Around 878,585 internet users connected through EV-DO technology, while the DSL base reached 1.37 million subscribers at end-January. Around 179,040 internet customers used Wimax connections, and HFC connected 43,738 internet subscribers. The FTTH internet base reached 30,726 at end-January, while other technologies served 9,097 internet subscribers.
