Pakistan to invest PKR 11.5 bln in Telecentre deployment

Pakistan's Federal Minister for Finance, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar has approved the USF Telecentre Project across Pakistan. The Minister also ordered the release of PKR 5 billion from the federal consolidated fund (FCF) for the USF project. In addition, PKR 1 billion will also be invested in R&D projects. These Telecentres will provide people in remote areas of the country with access to e-communication services and IT facilities. 500 telecentres will be built with overall investments of PKR 11.5 billion in a period of three years.
