Pakistan tops 41 million broadband customers

Pakistan ended February with a total of 41.4 million broadband subscribers, up from 40.7 million in January. Of these, around 38.96 million were mobile broadband subscribers in February, compared to 38.26 million in January, according to figures released by the Paki­stan Telecommunication Authority (PTA).

Around 847,839 internet users connected through EV-DO technology, while the DSL base reached 1.37 million subscribers at end-February. Around 178,012 internet customers used Wimax connections, and HFC connected 43,995 internet subscribers. The FTTH internet base reached 31,663 at end-February, while other technologies served 9,264 internet subscribers.
