Pakistan watchdog to monitor SIM-related complaints

Pakistan Telecom Authority (PTA) has created a Monitoring Cell for SIM-relates complaints. Back in August, the PTA has deployed Biometric Verification System (BVS) for issuance of SIMs. The Cell will receive complaints from Law Enforcement Agencies and the general public through various channels. For this purpose a dedicated email address and SMS short-code have been created. Complaints can also be submitted by calling a special fixed-line number of by fax. The complaints will then be investigated and results will be shared with relevant quarters for taking remedial measures, the PTA said.
