Panama eyes October 2018 for analogue switch-off

Wednesday 13 September 2017 | 11:12 CET | News
Panama's public services authority ASEP has announced that it plans to switch off the analogue signal in three of the country's most highly-populated regions in October 2018. The provinces of Panama, Panama West, and Colon, which together account for 62 percent of the country's TV homes, will be the first to cease analogue TV transmissions on 14 October next year under ASEP's proposal, followed by Cocle, Herrera, Los Santos and Veraguas in phase two, Chiriqui and Bocas del Toro in phase three and the province of Darien in phase four.
