Papua New Guinea govt orders SIM card registration

Papua New Guinea's government has called on the public to register their mobile SIM cards by June or risk being disconnected, reports The National. Information Communication Technology Minister Timothy Masiu said the government has given this period through the National Information and Communications Authority (NICTA) for people to register their SIMs.  Masiu said SIM registration would help authorities track people, especially social media users for misinformation.
