Paraguay to award 3 DTT channels next month

Friday 13 January 2017 | 10:40 CET | News
Paraguay's National Telecommunications Commission (Conatel) is set to run a frequency auction for three new free-to-air DTT channels on 08 February, reports website Media Telecom, citing Conatel president Teresita Palacios. In a bid to prevent foreign companies from controlling free-to-air TV content, bidders must be 51 percent owned by Paraguayan shareholders. The starting price for bids will be PYG 2 billion, said Palacios.
