Paraguay to explore possible satellite launch by 2021

Tuesday 25 April 2017 | 11:26 CET | News
Paraguay's National Council of Science and Technology (Conacyt) has signed an agreement with Itaupu Technological Park Foundation (PTI) to explore the viability and cost benefit of launching the country's first satellite mission. The partners will spend 12 months looking at the technical feasibility of the project and its possible uses, from communications to environmental monitoring and meteorology. The long-term aim is to reduce dependency on private firms and have the satellite in orbit by 2021, said Conacyt in a statement.
