Paraguay to order operators to block stolen mobile phones

The Chamber of Deputies of Paraguay's Parliament has started examining a draft law that requires telecommunications operators to block mobile phones reported stolen or lost, reports ABC. According to the new legislation, introduced by MP Edgar Acosta, the company providing the mobile service should lock such devices via the International System for Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI). The device will be blocked only after the owner of the line has filed a complaint with the service provider.
