Paraguyan pay-TV providers set up new association

Tuesday 21 June 2016 | 13:50 CET | News
A group of 27 companies providing pay-TV services in Paraguay have decided to form the Association of Cable Operators of the Interior, reports ABC. The new association has dropped out from the Chamber of Cable Operators of Paraguay (CCP). In a statement, the cable operators explained that they decided to form their own union to defend their interests and develop projects from which they would benefit. They also accused the CCP of being at the service of Tigo, the dominant telecommunications company that hopes to receive a licence from regulator Conatel to offer a pay-TV service via satellite.
